The firm Managing Partner is Philip D. Freedman. Mr. Freedman has over forty years experience in the practice of intellectual property law with emphasis in the area of patent application preparation and prosecution, client counseling and opinions on the construction of patents and patent infringement and validity.

Mr. Freedman received his Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry with concentration in biochemistry and Bachelor of Arts Degree with concentration in applied science (engineering) from Lehigh University and he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree (law) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Freedman began his career at the United States Patent Office as an examiner. Thereafter, he worked in the energy and materials industries from 1965 to 1972. From 1972 to 1992, he was a partner with the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania law firm of Caldwell & Kearns where he was engaged in the general practice of law including civil and criminal law in the courts of Pennsylvania. He was solely responsible for major cases in trial and appeal to the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth, Superior and Supreme Courts. His reported cases include Schell v. AMF, Inc., 567 F.2d 1259 (3rd Cir. 1977); Sheibley v. ARA Foods, 86 Pa.Cmwlth. 28, 483 A.2d 593 (1984); and Commonwealth v. Allen, 475 Pa. 165, 379 A.2d 1335 (1977). Mr. Freedman has served as a juvenile court hearing officer for the Court of Common Pleas of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. During the same time period, he served as solicitor for the Derry Township (Hershey, Pennsylvania) Zoning Hearing Board.
He is admitted to practice in Virginia and Pennsylvania and to the United States Third and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and he is admitted to practice before the United States Patent Office. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and has served on the Association's Biotechnology and Chemical Practice Committees. Also, he is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
Mr. Freedman is the inventor of United States patents Laser surgery device and method, US 6454761; Structure with heat dissipating device and method, US 7208191; and co-inventor of Method of Determining processability of tar sands, US 3621260. Also, he is the inventor of Patterned structure, method of making and use, Publication 20060181854; and Electronic module with thermal dissipating surface, Publication 20070122622.
